Shrink a PDF for email without turning it into a folder of JPGs. Phone scans are huge because they are photos of pages; text-only contracts barely shrink.

Delete unused pages and crop dark scanner margins before you compress. Open a page with tiny type after download — if letters collapse, use a milder setting.

This is not PDF to JPG. Compression keeps a PDF. Processing stays in the tab. If you still miss a portal cap, you may need fewer pages, not a harsher slider.

Large scanned PDFs often fail email and portal limits because they embed full-resolution photos of each page. Compress them in your browser with A2Z Edit after you delete pages you do not need.

Compression keeps a PDF. It is not the same as PDF to JPG, which turns pages into pictures and drops a selectable text layer. Text-only contracts barely shrink; photo-heavy scans usually do.
