Most PDF tools here (merge, split, rotate, compress, redact, watermark, sign) run in the browser with pdf-lib and pdf.js. Your draft stays in the tab while you work. Ask PDF is the exception: when AI is configured it may send excerpts to a model provider.
Scanned packets get huge because they are photos of pages. Compress after you delete unused sheets — not before. Redact is not the same as drawing a black box in a word processor; use the redaction tool if IDs or account numbers must leave the file.
PDF to JPG/PNG flattens pages into images (no selectable text). If you need words you can copy, use PDF to Text or PDF to TXT instead of exporting pictures.
