About this tool

Turn an image into a Base64 text string for CSS or HTML data URIs. The string is much larger than the file; this is not a compressor.

Use it for tiny icons you truly want inline. Do not Base64 a hero photograph — pages get huge and caches suffer. Decode the other direction on Base64 to Image.

Encoding stays in the tab. You still own the image; this only changes representation.

Encode any image into a Base64 data URL or raw Base64 string for embedding in HTML, CSS, or APIs.
