How to Make an Image Smaller

“Make it smaller” can mean fewer kilobytes or fewer pixels — they are different jobs. File-size problems usually need compression; layout problems need resizing or cropping.
Start with Compress Image when an upload limit complains about MB. Switch to Resize Image when a template demands a maximum width.
How to Make an Image Smaller
- If the complaint is file size, open Compress Image, upload, and aim for a target KB or lower quality.
- If the complaint is dimensions, open Resize Image and enter smaller width/height.
- Preview the result so it still looks acceptable.
- Download and retry your upload.
- Combine both when a portal caps megabytes and pixels.

Upload forms rarely explain whether they care about bytes, pixels, or both.
Fixing the right axis once avoids washing out quality with repeated re-exports.
