How to test a QR code

Updated 2026-08-25

Always scan your own code. Broken links and low contrast show up immediately in a 30-second test.

Use your phone camera and A2Z Edit’s scanner to confirm decoding and destination.

How to test a QR code

  1. Generate or receive the QR image.
  2. Scan it with at least one iPhone and one Android if you can.
  3. Confirm the URL or payload is correct.
  4. Try a slightly farther distance and a dimmer light.
  5. Only then approve the design for print or packaging.

Why it matters

Testing is cheaper than reprinting a billboard.

Tips

  • Test the final exported file, not only an on-screen preview with different scaling.
  • If you used Wi‑Fi type, test on a device that is logged out of that network.
  • Document the destination URL next to the asset in your files.
