Redact a PDF vs remove pages

Some secrets sit in a paragraph; others fill an entire appendix you should not send.
On A2Z Edit, Redact PDF hides regions on a page, while Remove PDF Pages drops whole pages from the file.
Steps
- Skim the PDF and list what must not be shared.
- If an entire page is unnecessary, remove it.
- If only a line or field is sensitive, redact that region.
- Strip metadata as a final privacy pass.
- Download and re-read the cleaned file end to end.

- Do not “cover” secrets with a white rectangle in a basic editor—use real redaction.

Hide vs omit
Redact when the page must stay but a name, ID, or amount must go. Remove or extract pages when the whole sheet should not be in the packet. Drawing a black box in a word processor is neither — the text often remains selectable.
After redaction, strip PDF metadata. After removing pages, compress if the scan is still huge. Always try to select text on the download.
