About this tool

Strip EXIF, GPS, and software tags from a copy of a photo before you post it. Viewing metadata on the sibling page does not remove anything.

Messaging apps are inconsistent about stripping location. Assume they do not. JPEG and PNG can often stay lossless; other types may be re-encoded to PNG.

This does not blur faces or document numbers in the picture. Combine with Blur Image or Redact PDF when the pixels are the secret. Keep the original if you still want GPS for yourself.

Share photos without leaking location or device details. JPEG and PNG are cleaned without re-encoding when possible; other formats may be saved as PNG.

This only clears tags (EXIF, GPS, software). It does not blur faces, plates, or document numbers in the picture — use Blur / pixelate for those pixels. Rename files that contain personal names before you upload.
