How to protect personal info when sharing files
- List what must stay private (IDs, addresses, account numbers).
- Blur those regions on photos; redact them on PDFs.
- Strip image EXIF and PDF document info.
- Remove pages that are not required.
- Do a final visual pass before you upload or email.

A short checklist before you hit send
1) Decide what the other party actually needs. 2) Blur those regions on photos. 3) Redact them on PDFs with a real redaction tool. 4) Strip image EXIF and PDF document info. 5) Remove extra pages. 6) Rename the file. 7) Open the upload copy and try to select text or pinch-zoom the “black bars.”
