How to View Image Metadata

Photos often carry hidden EXIF fields: camera model, capture time, even GPS. Checking metadata before you share is a quick privacy habit.

Open the Image Metadata Viewer and follow the steps below.

- Open the Image Metadata viewer.
- Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, or similar photo.
- Review the metadata table.
- Note amber or sensitive rows such as GPS when present.
- If you want a clean copy, continue to Remove Image Metadata.
Why it matters
Location and device tags can reveal more than the picture itself.
Creators also use EXIF to confirm camera settings after a shoot.
Tips
- Screenshots and heavily edited exports may have little or no EXIF left.
- Viewing tags does not change the file — download a stripped copy only when you need one.

Why are some rows empty?
Not every format or app writes the same tags. Missing fields usually mean they were never stored or were already stripped.
