How to Remove GPS Data from a Photo

Many phones embed latitude and longitude in every shot. That is useful for your own map albums — and a problem when the same file goes to a public link.
Removing GPS does not change the picture pixels; it clears the location tags so viewers cannot reverse-map where you stood.

- Optionally open the Image Metadata viewer first to confirm GPS tags are present.
- Open Remove Image Metadata.
- Upload the photo that includes location data.
- Download the cleaned file.
- Re-check in the viewer — GPS rows should be gone.

Frequently asked questions
Does removing GPS blur the image?
No. Only metadata tags are cleared. Use blur/pixelate if the pixels show an address or landmark you need to hide.
Will messaging apps still see my location?
Not from EXIF on the cleaned file. Separate live location features in chat apps are unrelated.
